To all our incredible community partners and supporters:
It is with sincere regret that we must, very suddenly, change our fundraising, and other, plans for the 2025 season. Due to unforeseen last-minute staffing changes and shortages, we will have to scale back our live music events, resulting in the need to re-imagine our charitable efforts for the 2025 summer season.
We are excited to announce that we will still host live concert events, in the format you are used to, on the following dates:
- May 25 – Cougar Flash to benefit Veterans Fishing Adventure
- June 21 – Will Overman, presented by Kelly Antonio & Alice Riviere of Bragg & Co. Realty, to benefit Jacob’s Ladder
- July 12 – The Mullins Sisters, presented by Bragg & Co. Realty, to benefit the Lancaster County Education Foundation
- August 30 – Dakota Kensy, to benefit a to-be-determined local cause
For the charitable organizations that will no longer be supported through live music events, we remain committed to fundraising on their behalf. On the days originally scheduled for these events, we will donate 10% of the day’s gross receipts from The Black Duck Restaurant to the designated cause.
While this was not the path we had planned, our commitment remains unchanged. We are still striving toward our goal of donating $500,000 over five years to Lancaster-area charities. This need to scale back on entertainment offers us an opportunity to explore new and creative ways to engage our community and continue making an impact.
Other unfortunate changes to the summer include being unable to open The Shack in any capacity and needing to cancel the live music originally scheduled there. We are working very hard to open our saltwater pool, and hope to have that open in time for this weekend.
If any affected charities and musical acts are learning of these cancellations through this notice, we sincerely apologize – we have been working very hard in the short time since this decision was made to reach all of you.
We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support. We hope you’ll join us for the concerts that are scheduled and visit The Black Duck this summer to help us keep our charitable goals alive.
With warmest regards,
Todd & Kara Patterson
