THE PATTERSONS
Todd and Kara Patterson, owners of B+G Marine Services in the British Virgin Islands, bought Yankee Point Marina in May 2022.
“I’ve been looking for the right opportunity like this for along time,” said Todd. “It’s the perfect size operation and an amazing location. I’m honored to have the chance to build upon the existing operation and become part of the Northern Neck community.”
Todd and Kara are experienced marine business veterans. They have owned B+G Marine Services since 2013, building it into one of the most respected yacht management, maintenance and refit companies in the British Virgin Islands, with additional support centers in Newport, RI, and Annapolis, MD.
Todd has held his USCG 100 Ton Master since 2003 and has almost 25 years professional sailing experience as a captain and first mate with thousands of offshore and coastal sea miles. He is a keen sailor, is commodore of the Royal BVI Yacht Club, and owns a 40-foot Passport. Kara holds her masters in accounting from Tulane University and grew up on boats in the British Virgin Islands.

An expert shipwright, Wayne has rebuilt many wooden boat hulls, cutting out the rotten wood and replacing it with new, pulling out old caulking and red leading the seams and driving cotton back into the seams thus turning derelicts into fine watercraft.
His expertise also extends to building wooden masts from scratch and re-building many tall wood masts bringing them new life. His extensive knowledge of the complex nature of boats along with his leadership characteristics ensure our customers get a great quality job.

MIKE KUES
Awlgrip Painter
Mike joined Yankee Point in 1996. Prior to joining Yankee Point Mike worked with his father in the construction business performing tasks in carpentry, electrical and plumbing. Since joining Yankee Point he has increased his knowledge and skill base to include diesel engine and outboard motor work through attending schools put on by Yamaha and ABYC. He has been certified by ABYC for diesel engines.
Mike continued to expand his talents after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. One particularly complicated repair was to a 42’ Pearson which had suffered major damage to her starboard quarter. The gunwale and hull had been crushed from about 10 feet forward of the starboard side of the transom and the entire transom was gone. Mike fabricated a temporary frame and repaired the damage to a like new condition. In 2012 Mike took over as the Paint Shop Foreman and has completed countless paint jobs, fiberglass repairs and continues to hone his skills with both outboard and inboard engines and drivetrains.
